Sally Gardens is a beautifully restored nineteenth century cottage with the comforts of the twenty first century under an environmentally friendly and welcoming roof! Nestling in an idyllic rural area of County Down, just one hour and ten minutes from Dublin or Belfast airports and within half an hour’s drive from some of Ireland’s most spectacular scenic locations including the famed Mountains of Mourne, The Cooley Peninsula, Carlingford Lough and Kilbroney Park in Rostrevor. Day trips to the Giant’s Causeway and New Grange are also well within reach and if you prefer to relax in the area, there’s even a 5000 year old dolmen within sight of the front door!

For those who prefer to walk or cycle, the area offers a lacework of quiet country roads and lanes, ideal for rambling along to explore at your leisure. And when you’ve had your look around the area, there’s a guarantee of a snug warm house with under floor heating and a wood burning stove for those times when you need to see a real fire.

There is a family run supermarket to stock up on food supplies within a minute by car or five minutes walk and if shopping in a larger scale is your preference, then the city of Newry with two major shopping centres is just fifteen minutes drive away. For occasions when you’d like to go out to eat, the nearby town of Warrenpoint (five minutes by car) offers a number of excellent restaurants.

The cottage is surrounded by a little garden, a patio with table and chairs for outdoor eating and an old orchard where you can relax under the apple trees within the shelter of a laurel hedge.

Sally’s Garden Cottage offers self -catering accommodation with a living room, a modern fitted kitchen, two bedrooms, (one ensuite with wheelchair access) and a bathroom. There is also an airy hall with plenty of natural light where you can view the hills across the valley or even paint your masterpiece! The living room has a comfortable sofa bed and a reclining two seater, specially tempting for the end of a long day when you can sit by the fire and literally put your feet up in County Down!
