Bangor is a seaside resort located 21km from Belfast. The Belfast to Bangor train line was built in the late 19th century to connect the capital with the then flourishing resort. Apart from having many shops the town has many tourist attractions. Central to this is the 500 berth marina, which opened in 1995 and is considered one of the largest in Ireland.
