Chapel
Island Apartment is the second of two
apartments that boasts luxury living in a
newly renovated environment. (For Salt
Island Apartment please
Sympathetically restored with solid pine
flooring throughout this stunning apartment
offers modern living in relaxing surrounds.
The restored Belfast roof gives the
apartment a wonderful feeling of space.
Exposed beams and stone work add to the
ambience.
The apartment
is about 100 metres walk from the waters
edge and is above a renovated shop and coal store.
In days gone by the apartment was used to
store corn and grain before it was weighed
and measured on its way to the farmers
market. Coal was also stored on its
arrival by coal boats that docked at the
harbour.
The living
room is located in the front of the
apartment with views over the well kept village green.
(Picture shows edge of apartments with
village green centre).
The
apartment is elegantly furnished with leather
furniture and solid pine floors. The
kitchen shares the living room with all
modern appliances. There are a
number of skylights throughout the apartment
which add to the light and airy feel. Both bedrooms are ensuite, with
the main bedroom featuring an exposed stone
wall. There is a small stairs that leads you
up to the second bedroom and patio area.
Strangford
is a delightful sea side village
separated by water from Portaferry. It
is uniquely positioned at the road end
further enhancing it's character.
Frequent sailings bring you (and car)
across the short distance to Portaferry
where the kids can enjoy the Exploris
Aquarium (see page 2 under our
attractions for more info). The town is
tranquil and peaceful and boasts some
excellent places to eat.
Strangford
is an ideal
touring base for exploring the Ards
Peninsula, Castleward National Trust
Property, St Patrick's Mountain and
Heritage Sites and Mountains of Mourne. It
is also a great base for the many golf courses and
fishing locations.
A number
of walks are available from your
doorstep including easy access to the
Ulster Way. Routes allow you to explore
the many castles and towers along this
coastline. Audley Castle is roughly a 45
minute walk and has pleasant views over Portaferry, local sailing club and
Strangford Lough. A short
car journey to Kilcief castle in the
other direction reveals some small
beautiful clean beaches, perfect for
swimming.
