Brookvale Cottage

Brookvale Cottage is set in the heart of County Down in a peaceful rural setting. 3 miles from Saintfield, Ballynahinch and Crossgar.

ChickenThe cottage was renovated in 2005 where great care and attention was paid to every detail in order to provide a luxurious finish incorporating green oak beams and slate floors.

Views from the cottage are of a rural idyll where visitors can enjoy the beauty of Down's rolling Drumlins and an ancient hill fort with the sound of a nearby stream.

This is an ideal location whether you are looking for a relaxing weekend break or an activity filled holiday.

Although Brookvale Cottage is in a peaceful rural location there are many wonderful attractions within easy reach, including beautiful beaches, coastal walks and the infamous Mourne Mountains, which are a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.

There are 3 National Trust Properties close by in addition to Forest Parks and Nature Reserves. Strangford Lough with it's unspoilt coastline is also a perfect place to relax and unwind. Belfast and Lisburn cities are easily accessible where you can experience some of Northern Ireland's cultural highlights and history. There are many award winning restaurants in the area and facilities for more casual dining where you can enjoy the fantastic food and craic!

All of which makes this the perfect location to explore some of the best attractions Northern Ireland has to offer. Nearby Leisure Activities include:

  • Fishing, both sea and fresh water. Fishing is available in the nearby river. Day tickets can be purchased locally
  • National Trust and Heritage properties
  • Golf Courses including the Royal County Down

Assistance:

The cottage can be seen straight ahead, dead centre, as you look. Click on the icon in the top right corner to view in full screen. (Escape will allow you to exit full screen mode). Hold the left button on your mouse and drag to view from different angles. To move along the road either click the arrows on the road or choose a spot further along the road and left click your mouse once to advance! (If you don't move your mouse far enough away you will see a magnifying glass in your circle, move a bit further and it disappears. Click and advance! If you find yourself activating the magnifying glass simply right click and zoom out.)

You will have noticed a small window to the bottom right with a little yellow man in the centre. What you are seeing in the main window is the view through his eyes. This window can be enlarged by clicking the arrow in the top left corner. Use the '+' and '-' to zoom in/out. You can also drag the yellow man to e.g. the nearest town and have a quick tour before you arrive! Of course the blue icon represents the location of the cottage.

Have fun and we hope you enjoy your holiday ...
