Primrose
Cottage is one of four cottages that make
up
Rosevale Farm Cottages. Located in an
idyllic country setting, this property
provides an authentic atmosphere of bygone
days with period features having been
tastefully combined with a number of modern
conveniences.
Although recently
built, this cottage is designed in the
vernacular style. Like the others, it
provides an authentic atmosphere of days
gone by with a turf-burning stove in the
cosy living room which also contains the
dining area. A lofty ceiling provides an
airy feel. The surrounding fields
are currently grazed by rare Irish breeds.
Due to the nature of the property all the
cottages are strictly no smoking and no
pets.
Within 1 mile
is the picture-postcard village of
Crawfordsburn, home to the oldest inn in
Ireland, dating back to 1614. Crawfordsburn
Inn has been frequented over the years by
such illustrious figures as Peter the Great,
Tsar of Russia, legendary highwayman Dick
Turpin, former US President George Bush
(Senior) and even C.S. Lewis who spent his
holidays here.
Just behind
the inn is Crawfordsburn Country Park. This
five-and-a-half acre park offers quiet
walkways, beach and car parking
facilities. Pedestrian access can be gained
by pathways behind the Inn. The visitor
centre offers wildlife exhibitions
and audio-visual presentations. The golden
beach attracts thousands of bathers and sun
worshippers throughout the summer. There are
several marked walks including the Glen Walk
which follows the Crawford's Burn up through
woodland and under a gigantic five arch
railway viaduct to the beautiful waterfall.

The nearest
town is Bangor, a maritime resort with an
impressive history of monastic settlements
dating back to the sixth century. Five
minutes' drive will take you into town where
you will enjoy sight-seeing, shopping and a
mouth-watering array of excellent
restaurants.
The lively
city of Belfast lies just over ten miles
along the shores of Belfast Lough. The city
offers all the facilities demanded of
tourists on a city break. New shopping
precincts, restaurants and centres of
entertainment are springing up all the time.
Despite the
proximity of these thriving centres, the
cottages nestle in an area of rural
tranquillity where the bustle of everyday
life seems a million miles away.
